
Golden Visa
Golden Visa is a "residence permit" for entry and residence in Portuguese territory for investment purposes (hence the generic name, more accurately, ARI - residence permit for investment).
Who can be attributed?
This permit is intended for anyone who is not a citizen of the European Union or the Schengen area, and fill, primarily related to investment property acquisitions and / or certain job creation requirements. Golden Visa holders can benefit from family reunionification (according to legislation).

It is considered as a minimum requirement checking at least one of the following situations in the country:
How long is attributed / valid the GoldenVisa?
Once issued, the Golden Visa will be valid for an initial period of 1 (one) year and then will be renewed for subsequent periods of 2 years.
After five years a permanent residence permit may be granted. And after this five years period the investment can be ceased.

Beneficiaries GoldenVisa
Any third-country nationals engaged in an investment activity, either personally or through a company incorporated in Portugal or in another Member State of the European Union and its permanent establishment in Portugal, who meet the quantitative requirements and the temporal requirement under applicable law.
Minimum time requirement for the investment activity
The minimum time requirement for the maintenance of the investment is five years, counted from the date of obtaining the Residence Permit. After the end of this period, no longer is necessary to maintain the investment, except in cases where it is desired to make the revalidation.
Precautionary requirements to be met

- Acquisition of real estate with a value equal to or above 500 thousand euros;
- Acquisition of property that was constructed at least 30 years ago, or which is located in an urban rehabilitation area and carry out restoration and rehabilitation work of a minimum total of 350 thousand euros;
- Capital transfer with a value equal to or above 1 million euros;
- The creation and maintenance of at least ten job positions;

The Golden Visa Program will provide investors with the following advantages:
- No need to obtain a visa to enter Portugal;
- No need to obtain a visa to travel in Europe (Schengen area);
- Living and working in Portugal, even with residency in a different country;
- Residency extended to family members;
- Extremely low minimum stay periods;
- Permanent Residency after 5 years (according to the law in force);
- Citizenship after 6 years (according to the law in force).

- cannot be Subject to an entry ban in national territory following a removal order from Portugal;
- Absence of alert in the Schengen Information System;
- Not Subject to any alerts in the Immigration and Borders Service in Portugal (SEF).
